Dental Implants

What it is

A dental implant is a small titanium post that's placed gently into the jawbone, where it fuses with the bone and supports a new crown, bridge, or denture. It's the closest thing modern dentistry has to a real tooth.

Who it's for

Adults missing one or more teeth who still want to enjoy injera, kitfo, and a good laugh without worrying. We'll check your bone health first and plan around what's right for you — including bone grafting if needed.

What to expect on the day

We take it step by step: a calm 3D scan and full plan, the gentle placement appointment under local anesthetic, a few months of healing while the implant settles in, then the final crown that matches your other teeth.

How long it takes

4–9 months from start to finish, with most appointments short and easy.

Good implant work is all about patient planning. We use 3D imaging and surgical guides so the placement is precise, healing is faster, and the final result looks and feels like your own tooth — not someone else’s.

Common questions

Everything you've wanted to ask

How long do dental implants last?
With good brushing and regular check-ups, the titanium implant itself can last you a lifetime. The visible crown on top usually serves you well for 15–20 years before normal everyday wear means it needs to be replaced — much like a tyre on a well-loved car.
Are dental implants painful?
Most of our patients tell us afterwards, "I wish I'd done it sooner." The procedure itself is done with local anesthetic, so you don't feel anything during it. A bit of mild soreness for a few days afterwards is normal and easily handled with simple pain relief — we'll guide you through every step.
